Employee Contributions 2026
General pension scheme. Contribution limited to first β¬4,760 monthly gross salary. Covers old-age, survivor benefits, spouse supplement, complementary retirement.
Unemployment insurance (French system). Applied up to first gross salary ceiling limit. Monaco employees covered by French ASSEDIC system.
Second tranche from first ceiling to 4x ceiling. Contribution limited to first β¬13,076 gross salary. Provides extended unemployment coverage.
Supplementary pension (Tranche 1) up to first salary ceiling. Paid on total gross salary unless executive ('cadre') status. Additional retirement benefits.
Tranche 2 over first salary level on overall salary amount. Higher contribution for higher earnings. Builds enhanced pension benefits.
Combined employee social contributions approximately 10-14% of gross salary depending on salary level and tranches. Deducted automatically from payroll.

Employer pension contribution. Limited to first β¬4,760 monthly gross. Finances old-age, survivor, disability benefits, and periods without contributions.
Employer fully pays health insurance contribution (employees pay 0% for health). Covers illness, maternity, invalidity, death. Contribution limited to first β¬8,500 gross.
Employer unemployment contribution up to first ceiling. Matches and exceeds employee contribution for unemployment insurance coverage.
Second tranche from first ceiling to 4x ceiling limit. Total unemployment contribution capped at β¬13,076 gross salary.
Employer supplementary pension Tranche 1. Higher employer contribution builds employee pension benefits significantly.
Tranche 2 supplementary pension - substantial employer contribution on higher salary portions. Ensures robust retirement benefits.
Total employer social contributions approximately 24-30% of gross payroll. Can reach 28.65% depending on specific funds and salary levels.
Self-Employed Contributions
Self-employed must register with CARTI (Independent Pensions Fund): sole traders, general partners, managing partners, liberal professions. Registration within 1 month of starting activity.
CAMTI covers CARTI members except those both employed and self-employed for same activity. Also covers retired self-employed residing in Monaco.
Business license holders covered for sickness, maternity, accident, pension benefits. Separate scheme from employees but comprehensive social protection.
